High flying Corby Town were hit for six today by a rampant Gloucester City.

It took Gloucester just 7 minutes to open the scoring by Lee Smith.0-1

After 16 minutes Luke Ballinger made it 0-2

Tom Hamblin made it 0-3 after 39 minutes.

Corby manager Graham Drury brought on three subs at half time, Jason Lee, John Turner and Brett Solkhon for Mark Stallard, Tommy Jaszczun and Phil Watt in a gamble to pull goals back.

Unfortunately it took Gloucester just 9 minutes of the second half to make it 0-4 with a goal from Alex Sykes.

Gavin Strachan scored the first for Corby direct from a free kick after 57 minutes 1-4 only for Gloucester to score a fifth by Lee Smith. 1-5

Leon Mettam made it 2-5 after 68 minutes only to see Lee Smith score again to complete his hat-trick in the 88th minute. 2-6

Brett Solkhon scored for Corby after 89 minutes. 3-6
