Corby Town picked the wrong day to visit Fleetwood Town with big money signing from Kettering,Gareth Seddon, making his home debut.
Seddon couldn't have asked for more by scoring a hat-trick in front of over 1000 rapturous Fleetwood fans.
To be fair to Corby they never gave up the fight although you always felt the script had been written and they weren't going to come out on top.
On the plus side for Corby manager Graham Drury would have been pleased to see Steve Diggin picking up goals again with two against a side who had not let a goal in in the last three matches. Joe Francis also looks to be regaining his match fitness.
One goal down at half time through Gareth Seddon's first goal after 38 minutes Corby were still in the game but when Seddon scored the second of his goals after 52 minutes you knew the Steelmen had a real fight on their hands.
Steve Diggin gave them a ray of hope by reducing the deficit after 67 minutes but Seddon's third goal after 69 minutes was a real blow.
Things got worse when Adam Warlow made it four for Fleetwood after 74 minutes and although Steve Diggin reduced the arrears again after 84 minutes Corby had little to offer in the time left.
