Vauxhall Motors 2 - 4 Corby Town (A)
Corby Town got back to what they do best when away from home - winning.
This was by no means an easy afternoon though for manager Graham Drury's boys.
Vauxhall Motors may be close to the bottom of the league but they opened brightly and after just 8 minutes they took the lead when Josh Wilson headed home the opener.
Corby bounced back well after 20 minutes when Leon Mettam got on the score sheet again with a purposeful header provided by a cross from jack Defty
At half time Joe Francis and Phil Watt made way for Chris Shaw and Leon Hibbert.
Whether it was the changes or Graham Drury's half time team talk it was difficult to tell but Corby certainly moved up a gear and started to cause Vauxhall Motors real trouble.
It was no surprise then when Jack Defty headed powerfully home in 60 minutes from a Chris Shaw free kick.
The only real surprise of the second half was when the Motormen managed to equalise in the 70th minute after Paul Mayo and Mark Osborn seemed to be unsure who was going to clear the danger and Noon popped in to make it 2-2.
Corby powered on and again it was Chris Shaw who made an opening for Steve Towers in the 82nd minute and he simply lashed the ball home to give the Steelmen a 3-2 lead.
There was still more to come from the Steelmen though when Defty found himself in space in the box and scored his second of the match to close the Motormen out.
