Solihull Moors 3 - 0 Corby Town (A)
Solihull Moors 3 (Beswick 41 pen, 67, English 54) Corby Town 0
The busiest man in the dressing room following this game would have been physiotherapist Kevin Grundy.
Early in the game Brett Solkhon took a knock and had to leave the field, Leon Hibbert received a cut over his eye which appeared to bother him throughout the game, Paul Mayo looked to be struggling with his back and keeper Mark Osborn appeared to be suffering from some form of concussion following a blow to the head.
Add to that Tommy Jaszczun being sent off after 41 minutes and an embarrassingly incompetent performance from the referee who made a point during the whole game of penalising every tackle a Corby player made while just giving a finger-wagging to the Solihull players.
He didn't even give the penalty when he was in an excellent position to see what happened but his assistant referee was just as bad and Jaszczun was forced to leave the field although he appeared to have got his foot well onto to the ball to make the clearance.
Apart from the penalty Solihull scored two soft goals. The second was credited to Junior English who knew nothing about it and had his back to the goal when it went in somehow eluding Mark Osborn.
Solihull's third was straight from a free kick which was allowed to bounce in the area and drop in the corner again with poor Mark Osborn not appearing to see it.
Manager Graham Drury rang the changes but this was never a game the Steelmen were going to get anything out of.
Probably best described as a bad day at the office Drury must hope Kevin Grundy has the magic touch and can get his walking wounded ready for Wednesday's game against Blyth Spartans.
