Corby Town 1 - 4 Huddersfield Town (H)
Huddersfield Town manager Lee Clark did Corby Town proud by bringing his full first team squad to Rockingham Triangle.
For the first 60 minutes he played the eleven he intends to start with against Southend at the commencement of the Coca Cola Division One season.
The visitors led at half time with two goals from Theo Robinson although Joe Francis reduced the arrears after a fine run by Lawrie Dudfield.
In the second half amid several changes from both sides Huddersfield added to their lead with goals from Lee Novak and Theo Robinson, a hat-trick performance from the latter.
Autograph hunters were in their element for as well as Lee Clark in the Huddersfield camp there was also Terry McDermott, former Liverpool and Newcastle United mid-fielder and Derek Fazakerley formerly of Blackburn Rovers, two legends in their own rights.
Graham Drury said afterwards he was impressed with the Huddersfield Town side and although was disappointed with the final score, felt his squad had had a great workout.
"That one game was equal to half a dozen training sessions",he said today,"and was a great workout for the lads.
He was disappointed for Brett Solkhon who had to pull out of the game during the warmup session with a pulled calf muscle.
"Like everyone else Brett was looking forward to the game but as soon as he felt a twinge he knew it was not sensible to continue.
"He will need some rest and we will not consider him on Saturday for the game against Northampton Town."
