Corby Town secured a solid 1-0 win over recently promoted Nuneaton Town.
Mark Stallard's finshing was the difference between the two sides scoring with the perfect header from a Deeney cross in the 31st minute.
Just prior to that David Deeney let fly with a long range effort that had Nuneaton Town goalkeeper Neil Collett beaten all ends up only for the ball to strike the bar.
Nuneaton made the Steelmen work hard but the Corby defence coped well with everything the Town threw at them.
